Brown Eyes

Good evening all

This is a very quick post tonight, I was up at 5.30 this morning to go to a craft flair and it's now way past my bed time.

I am only posting pictures of this card to the moment as it has been made for the Open-minded challenge and I am nearing the deadline.  I will repost tomorrow with all the details of how I have made this card.

That's all for now.

Butterfly Wishes

Hi all

Well day one of my holiday and I have managed to get a little bit of painting done, not as much as I was hoping for.  The radiator cover told me 2 hours just to do one coat.

Anyway, I gave up for the evening to decided to make a card instead.  I have gone for a different style to my usual tonight, there is no image, just embossing and die cuts.

I have started with a square piece of white card stock and around the edge, I have added super strong double sided tape.  This has then been covered in loose glitter.

I have then taken a piece of yellow Centura Pearl card and embossed it using the Die'sire Flower Powder embossing folder and a piece of green Centura Pearl card which has been embossed using the Die'sire Grande Dots embossing folder.

These have been layered onto the white card stock and a piece of yellow ribbon has been wrapped around the centre.

For the butterflies, I have cut one large using the Marianne Design Creatables Butterfly 2 Die and one small using the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly die, both from the yellow Centura Pearl card.

I have then cut three more of the small butteries from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered in loose glitter.

For the flower I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur onto yellow Centura Pearl using Perfect Medium.  I have then heat embossed with Wow Bright White embossing powder and cut out using the matching Heartfelt Creations die.  These are shaped and layered with a flat back pearl added to the centre.

Using the Spellbinders Delightful Circles die, I have cut the second larges from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered in loose glitter.  The flower has then been layered onto this.

To finish the card, I have added the sentiment "Butterfly Wishes".

Blue Shamballa Girl

Evening all

Last day at work today, I am now officially on holiday for the next 10 days.  I call it a holiday, but there will be no relaxing as I have decorating planned.  Need to finish off those half done jobs from when I was ill last year.

Anyway on to today's make which is not a card.  I have been making Shamballa bracelets for a few months but wanted to do something different from the normal bracelet in a bag.

I have made the shamballa bracelet using white shamballa cord, 5mm blue pearl beads and one blue shamballa bead.  The peals beads have been threaded onto the two outer cords giving a double bead effect as the shamballa knots are tied.

I have then made a 4 x 4 square box from white card stock.  I have cut a strip of white card and glued the two edges together to form a circle to fit inside the bracelet, this has then had tabs cut into it and has been glued to the base.  A couple of layers of tissue paper has then been added over the top.  The bracelet sits around this and is kept in place.

For the top of the box, I have firstly embossed it using the Die'sire Flower Power Embossing Folder and using a circle punch, a semi circle has been cut out of two opposite sides.

I have then taken a piece of blue Centura Pearl card and embossed it using a Spellbinders Embossing Folder.  Using the Spellbinders Captivating Squares, I have cut the second largest die from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  This has then been covered with loose glitter.

The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured using ProMarkers to match the colour of the bracelet.  She has been cut out and layered onto the glitter square using Pinflair Glue to give dimension.

Last, to make the flower I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Four.  From the blue Centura Pearl, I have cut two of the medium flowers and one of the small flowers from white card stock, again backed with the adhesive sheet and glittered.  These have been shaped, layered and a flat back pearl added to the centre.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Strawberries and Cream

Afternoon all

What a gorgeous day today, doesn't the sun being out make you want to spring clean the house, I feel like stripping all the curtains and washing them.

Today's card I have chosen an image with a strawberry theme.

I have started with a square piece of red card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Regency Swirls embossing folder, this has then been layered onto a square piece of black card stock with a pierced edge.

Next I have taken a square piece of white vellum, randomly stamped a floral pattern with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Bright White Embossing Powder.  This has been layered onto the red card and each corner curled back and glued with a white flat back pearl added.

I have wrapped white lace from a local cake making shop around the background.

The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.  Using the Spellbinders Captivating Square, I have cut the largest out of the same red card stock as the background.  I have then mounted the digital stamp onto the die cut.  This has then been placed into the centre of the background.

For the flowers, I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three and from the red card stock, I have cut out the two main flower parts and the centre from black card stock.  These have been shaped and glue together.  The little roses have been made using the Crafty Cutter Dies Medium Rolled Flower from Crafty Sentiments Design.

To finish, I have added three small flat back pearls to each of the corners.

Hey Dude

Good afternoon all

Just a quick post before I pop out for a bit of shopping.  Today's card has a male theme.

I have started with a set of three digital patterned papers,  the first has been cut into a square and layered onto red card stock with a pierced boarder.  The second has been cut into a smaller square, layered onto the red card and placed in the centre of the background and I have taken a long panel from the third, again layering it onto red card and wrapping some blue twine around before placing it across the background.

The digital stamp is called "Come Here Often?" from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps and I have coloured him using ProMarkers.  Using the Spellbinders Basic Circle Die, I have cut him out and layered him onto a piece of red card.

To finish the card, I have added a ticket sentiment "Hey Dude" and a Happy Birthday sentiment cut using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die.  I have then added three blue buttons to the sentiment and small yellow buttons in each corner of the card.

Love and Sympathy

Hi all

I have had some really sad news today, a colleague's Brother in Law as diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago but last week they were informed that the chemo was killing him and it had to be stopped meaning that there was nothing else that could be done.  Sadly he lost his fight over the weekend.

So today's card is for all the colleagues to say how sorry they are and to offer their support to the family at this difficult time.

I have taken a square piece of white card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Regency Swirls embossing folder.  This has then been layered onto dark brown Centura Pearl card.

Next I have taken a panel of tan Centura Pearl card and layered this onto the right hand side of the background, another panel in dark brown Centura Pearl has again been embossed using the Regency Swirls and a panel of yellow Centura Pearl which has also been embossed have been layered on top and to finish a small piece of tan Centura Pearl has been layered across.

I have then taken the Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments die and cut from the same dark brown Centura Pearl.  To this I have added the sentiment "Sending Love and Sympathy" which has been printed from my computer.

Using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three, I have cut from yellow Centura Pearl the two flower parts and from dark brown the centre of the flower.  These have been shaped, layered and placed to the side of the sentiment.

To finish the card, I have added yellow organza yellow with a bow and a button in the centre.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Pretty in Pink

Hi all

I haven't had much time over the last few days to get many cards made, been trying to catch up on ironing and housework.  I'm on holiday next week, but I have planned in decorating so not much card making next week either.

I have been amazed at the NHS this week.  Having forgotten about an appointment with my consultant on the 31st Jan, I received a letter this week informing me that they had discharged me.  I cannot believe that there is no second chance of re-booking.  It's a good job that I am much better now.

Anyway onto today's card, I was aiming for a romantic card that a man could send to his new wife on their wedding day, but I think this could be used for many different occasions.

I have taken two panels of white Vellum and randomly stamped a floral pattern using Perfect Medium.  I have then heat embossed them with Wow! Bright White Embossing Power.  These have been layered onto a square piece of pink Centura Pearl card.

I have then taken two panels of white card stock and randomly stamped the same floral pattern but this time I have used the Wow! Clear Sparkle Embossing Glitter.  I have then run them through a Spellbinders Hearts embossing folder.  To add interest, I have then used an Ink It Up Pigment Ink Stamp to colour the edges of these panels.

Onto a piece of white card stock, I have add a double sided adhesive sheet.  From this I have die cut the Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments and covered with loose glitter.  I have added this to the background using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

The digital stamp is from Saturated Canary.  I have coloured her using ProMarkers, cut her out and layered her onto the die cut shape using Pinflair glue to dimension.

I have cut from pink Centura Pearl card, the Memory Box Cream Puff Heart and placed this on the left hand side of the card.  Next, using the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die, I have cut one large from pink Centura Pearl card and one small from white card stock backed with double sided adhesive and glittered.  These have been shaped and put together using a pale pink pearl brad.

I have then stamp the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur onto white vellum using Perfect Medium.  This has then been heat embossed with Wow! Bright White Embossing Powder and cut out using the matching die.  I have coloured the back of the flowers using the same ink pad as the embossed panels.  These flowers have then been shaped and layered together with a flat back pearl added to the centres.

To finish the card, I have die cut "Wife" from pink Centura Pearl card using the Tattered Lace Family Sentiments die.  I have also added flat back pearls to the corners of the card and using pink Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue, I have added a boarder of pink pearls.

A Mother's Love

Good afternoon crafters

That was a hard morning, it's the first 4am start I have done since last March.  Had to drag my son into work with me as well to help out for a couple of hours before college.

Today's card is one that I finished off last night, I didn't get chance to post it because of having to go to bed early.

I have started with a square piece of patterned digital paper and layered this onto green Centura Pearl paper.  Using the Spellbinders Reflective Moment die, I have cut two of the largest from the same green Centura Pearl paper, onto these I have layered two different patterned digital papers.

The digital stamp is called Butterfly Princess from Saturated Canary.  I have coloured her using ProMarkers, cut her out and layered her onto one of the die cuts.  I have then printed from my computer, the sentiment "A Mother's love is like sunshine ... that warms you all over" and layered this onto the other die cut.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur with Perfect Medium and heat embossing using Cosmic Shimmer Golden Fish Lustre Embossing Powder.  These have been cut out using the match Spellbinders die and layered to form three flowers.  I have then cut from green Centura Pearl paper, three centres for the flowers, two using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three and the third one using a Tattered Lace die.  To add a bit of sparkle, the flowers have been sprayed with Crafter's Companion Gold Glitter Spray.

To finish the card, I have added a piece of green ribbon across the bottom of the card.

Clever Girl

Evening all

Well I had meetings all afternoon with the new boss, I think we are going to get on OK, time will tell.  The meeting over run by an hour meaning I lost valuable crafting time, I have still managed to complete a card tonight.  The theme is school, passing exams, well done.

I have started with a square piece of brown Centura Pearl card stock, onto this I have layered a sightly small square piece of yellow Centura Pearl and a small piece of patterned digital paper.  I used this paper on my last card, I just had to use it again as it fitted this card perfectly.

Using the Spellbinders Damask Accents die set, I have cut a boarder from the same brown Centura Pearl and added this to the bottom of the patterned paper.  I have then added a piece of red organza ribbon back the centre of the card.

The digital stamp is called School Girl from Tiddly Inks.  I have coloured using ProMarkers and layered her onto brown Centura Pearl card.

Using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms One die, I have cut the largest and smallest from brown Centura Pearl and the middle size from yellow Centura Pearl.  I have then layered them and added a red gemstone to the centre of the flower.

To finish the card, I have added a "Well Done" sentiment and red gemstones to the four corners of the card.

Key To My Heart

Good evening everyone

I have had a well earned day off today filled with housework and then a little crafting.  Today's card is another Valentine Theme.

I have taken a square piece of patterned digital paper and layered it onto red card stock.  Next I have run a piece of white card stock through a Spellbinders embossing folder and added this over the top half of the card.  This complete background has then been layered onto another piece of white card stock with a pierced edge.

The image is a free digital stamp, I'm can't remember where I picked it up from as I have had it a long time, but if there is anyone that knows, I would appreciate it if they could let me know so I can add a link to this blog post.  I have coloured her in using ProMarkers.  Using Spellbinders nestibilities, I have cut out a circle in white and a scalloped circle in red.  The digital stamp has then been cut out and layered on top using Pinflair glue to give it dimension.

I have added to hearts either side of the circle using the Memory Box Cream Puff Heart die.  The flowers on either side have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die.  I have cut out two large and two small from white card which has been backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  Next I have added red glitter, shaped and added brads to the centre.

To finish the card, I have added the sentiment "You Hold The Key To My Heart".

My Heart Belongs To You

Good evening crafters

After a short but very busy 4 hours at work tonight, I needed to relax and what better then to craft.  The theme for this card is Valentine's Day.

I have taken a triangle piece of digital patterned paper and layered it on black card stock.  Next I have run a triangle piece of white card stock through a Spellbinders embossing folder and using a pink pigment ink pad, soften the edges and layered this onto the black background.  Where the two meet, I have added a Tattered Lace boarder die cut from white card stock and coloured with a red ProMarker.

The digital stamp is one of the My Besties range from Sherri Baldy.  I have coloured her in using ProMarkers, layered her onto black card stock and added Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue pearls.

From white card stock, I have cut out two hearts using the Memory Box Cream Puff Heart and coloured them using a red ProMarker to match the theme.

I have then taken a black button from my crafty stash, tried pink Bakers Twine to it and added a red charm.

To finish the card, I have added the sentiment "My Heart Belongs To You" in the shape of a banner.
