Swans For Life

Good evening all

Why is it that your body clock never switches off?  I have been on a day off today but still managed to wake up at 6:30 this morning.  On the plus side, I did make an early start on my housework leaving more to tonight for crafting.

I seem to have a fixation on wedding cards and purple at the moment, so tonight's card has that theme.

I have embossed a square piece of purple card stock using the Die'sire Embossalicious Regency Swirl embossing folder and mounted it onto card card stock with Cosmic Shimmer PVA pearls around the edge.  Next, I have taken a triangle of white card stock, embossed it using a Spellbinders hearts embossing folder and added colour with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Shaded Lilac ink pad.

To finish the background, I have placed a white doily into the centre and wrapped white lace around the card.

Using the Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles die set, I have cut out the second largest from purple card and layered this over the doily.

Next, I have printed the sentiment "Always & Forever" from my computer and cut it out using a smaller die from the same set.  I have inked around the edges using the same ink pad and layered it onto the purple die cut.

For the two swans, I have used the Gentle Swan from Memory Box to cut out from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  These have then been covered with Glamour Dust and layered using Pinflair glue to get dimension.

The flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Bloom stamp.  The first colour has been stamp into the purple card stock using Perfect Medium and heat embossed with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  The second colour has been stamped exactly the same but onto white card stock and inked using the same ink pad.  The petals have then been shaped and glued together to form roses.

To finish, I have added two beaded sprigs purchased from a local wedding shop and some flat back pearls at opposite corners of the background.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Joy

Good evening all

With the days starting to get shorter and the temperature dropping, it made me think of Christmas tonight, so I decided to make a Christmas card.

I have taken a square piece of white card stock and cut out an aperture.  I have then used the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Lace die set and cut out four of the largest shapes from white card.  These have been layered behind the aperture and then mounted onto blue card stock.  This forms the background of the card.

Next, I have printed off a Christmas sentiment from my computer and using the Spellbinders Captivating Squares die set, I have cut the sentiment out.  Colour has been added around the edge using the Memento Bahama Blue ink pad.

The two flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia set and die set.  I have stamped onto white vellum using Perfect Medium and heat embossed with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  These have then been cut out using the matching die.

The back of the petals have been coloured using the Memento ink pad and then each petal shaped and layered together.  Into the centre of each flower, I have added blue seed beads using Pinflair glue.

To finish the card, I have added a blue flat back pearl into each corner and mounted it onto white card with a pierced border.

Wedding Butterflies

Good evening all

This is the second of two wedding cards ordered for the same family.  The colour theme for the wedding is chocolate box purple and the Bride loves butterflies.

A square piece of white Centura Pearl card stock has been embossed using the Die'sire Embossalicious Ornate Butterflies embossing folder from Crafters Companion and mounted onto purple card leaving a small border around the edge.

Next, a panel of the same purple card has been embossed using the Die'sire Embossalicious Regency Swirl embossing folder, again from Crafters Companion.  This forms the background of the card.

Using the Tonic Heart Vines Affections Die Set, I have cut out a large plain heart from purple card and a large ornate heart from white Centura Pearl and layered them together.  Next, I have done the same but with the smaller heart.

The larger heart has been embossed using a Spellbinders heart embossing die and for the centre of the smaller heart, I have printed the sentiment "On Your Wedding Day Mr & Mrs Causton" onto white Centre Pearl.

I have wrapped some lilac organza ribbon around the background and added a bow at the base of the two hearts with a heart shape pearl button in the centre.

Using the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly die, I have cut out two butterflies from purple and two from Centre Pearl.  These have been layered together and flat back pearls added.

Chocolate Box Wedding

Good evening all

I have learnt so much about being prepared this week.  I'm not one for having insurances on lots of different items, but because my son is a bit of a nightmare for losing or breaking things, I insured his laptop and his phone.  This has very much paid off.  The laptop went wrong at the beginning of the week with a whole years worth of college work on it, the insurance covered the repair and making sure that no data was lost. Then yesterday, we upgraded his phone and were told that as I had insured the old one they would buy it back for £100.  Believe me when I say that the old phone was only fit for the bin, result.

Anyway, todays card is an order from my colleague at work.  It is a wedding card for her son and future daughter-in-law.  She wanted chocolate box purple as the colour theme.  I have used one of my favourite digital stamp from Tiddly Inks which has been coloured using ProMarkers.

I have embossed a piece of white Centura Pearl card stock using the Die'sire Embossalicious Regency Swirls embossing folder and mounted it onto purple card stock leaving a small border around the edge.

I have then embossed a smaller piece of white Centura Pearl using a Spellbinders Hearts embossing folder and mounted it on the same card.  Next, I have cut out a heart border using my Cameo Silhouette and a cutting file from the Silhouette store.

Lilac organza ribbon has been wrapped around the centre of the background.

Using the Tonic Square Vines Affection Die Set, I have cut out a plain square from purple card and the more ornate square from Centure Pearl.  I have then used the Tonic First Crush Affections Insert Die set and cut out in the same way as the square piece.  This has been layered up using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

I have cut out the digital stamp and mounted it into the centre of the heart, again using Pinflair glue.

The flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna stamp and die set.  Onto purple card, I have stamped using Perfect Medium and heat embossed with Wow Silver Pearl embossing powder.  This has then been cut out, shaped and glued together to form a rose.  I have made three of this roses and placed them into the bottom left hand corner of the card.

To finish, I have printed off "Mr & Mrs Causton" and cut this out using a smaller heart shaped die.

Sending Love And Sympathy

Happy Sunday

My card today is the second of two sympathy cards which a colleague has ordered from me.  A couple of weeks ago, I made a wedding card for a very sad occasion, the couple were renewing their wedding vows before she die from cancer.  I am told that it was a beautiful day and one that I'm sure her Husband will cherish forever.

My colleague has now passed on the sad news that she has passed again last Saturday.  I can only hope that sharing their wedding renewal has given her Husband a little comfort.

I have embossed a square piece of white card stock using the Die-sire Embossalicious Regency Swirls embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  This has then been mounted onto pink Centura Pearl card leaving a small border around the edge.

Next, I have taken a panel of the same card stock and embossed it using a cross pattern embossing folder which I don't have a name for.  Again, this has been mounted onto pink Centura Pearl and a pale pink organza ribbon wrapped around it.

From my computer, I have printed off the sentiment "Sending Love And Sympathy" onto white card and cut this into a panel.  Next, using a floral stamp from Crafty Individuals, I have stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

This panel has then been inked using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Victorian Velvet ink pad.

The flower has been made using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms set.  I have stamped onto white card using Perfect Medium, heat embossed using the same white embossing powder and cut out using the matching die.  Next, I have coloured the petals using the same distress ink pad, shaped and layered the petals to form one flower.  Into the centre of this, I have added white beads using Pinflair glue.

This flower has been placed onto a pale pink bow made from the same organza ribbon.

To finish, this has then been mounted onto the card blank and a border around the edge added using Cosmic Shimmer White PVA glue.

Heartfelt Sympathy

Good evening all

What a mad couple of days.  On Sunday, the heavens decided to open for all of 30 minutes, but the damage caused has been unbelievable.  On my way to work, I was walking through puddles where the water was up to my knee.  Then when I got into work, the store was closed due to the rain flooding through the roof and half of the ceiling tiles coming down.  This is not the sort of weather we are use to in this area.

I do feel very sad about the kind of society we live in now, Facebook was covered in negative remarks about the store being closed and how the colleagues were expected to clear up without being paid.  In truth, the whole incident was dealt with in a safe and efficient manner.  I cannot get my head around the fact that people can't go one day without the local supermarket being open, it's very sad.  I am not a religious person, but I do think that Sundays should be a family day and that all shops should be closed.

Anyway, today's card to one of two sympathy cards that a colleague has asked me to make.  These are always a difficult theme, so I have gone for a white on white with accents of lilac.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a free cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out a floral background from white card stock.  Into the centre of this background, I have cut out a circle aperture in the top centre.

From my computer, I have printed off the sentiment "With Heartfelt Sympathy" onto white card.  The floral background has then been layered onto this using Pinflair glue to give dimension.  Next, this background has been mounted onto lilac Centura Pearl card leaving a small border around the edge.

Again, using my Cameo and another free cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out a fancy frame from white card and layered this onto lilac Centra Pearl.

The flower has been made using the Heartfelt Arianna Bloom stamp and die set.  I have stamped onto lilac Centura Pearl with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  Next, this has been cut out using the matching die, shaped and layered to form one flower.  In the centre of this flower, I have add pearl beads using Pinflair glue.

The flower has been placed onto a bow made from lilac organza ribbon.

To finish, I have used Cosmic Shimmer pearl PVA glue around the edge of the card and around the sentiment.  Four flat back pearls have also been placed into each corner of the background.

Special Friend

Good evening all

Just a quick post today.  This is just a simple birthday card for a special friend.  For the colour theme,  I decided to go for a bright pink.

I have taken a piece of bright pink card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Embossalicious Ornate Butterflies embossing folder from Crafters Companion.

Next, using the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty Five, I have cut out the largest from white card stock and layered it onto silver mirror card.  The centre cut out from this die has been inked around the edges using Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.  From pink card, I have cut out one of the small dies from the same set and layered this into the centre.

From my computer, I have printed off a birthday sentiment for a special friend, cut this out using the Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five and layered this into the centre.  To add interest, I have used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue.

The flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna stamp and die set.  I have stamped onto pink card stock with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  These have then been cut out with the matching die, shaped and layered together.  In the centre of each flower, I have glued some pearl beads.

Vintage Christmas

Good evening all

I have had a nice relaxing day today.  My son is away for the week training to be an Officer for the Boys Brigade, so my house is peaceful, quiet and tidy.

Today I decided to have a little play with pop up cards.  This one I have made into a Christmas card using two different digital stamps from Sherri Baldy which I have coloured using ProMarkers.

I have used my Cameo Silhouette and a Silhouette cutting file to cut out the base card and pop out insert from white card stock.  The insert has been layered onto blue Centura Pearl card before sticking into the centre to give a small border around the outside.

I have then printed off three different patterned digital papers, cut into various sizes and layered them onto the same blue Centura Pearl.  These have been layered up to form the backgrounds on the inside and outside of the card.

The two digital stamps are mounted onto blue Centura Pearl card and glitter has been add to both images.

The snowflakes have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Lace die and the Arianna Blooms die.  For each snowflake, I have cut out two Arianna Lace from blue Centura Pearl and layered them.  Next, I have used the small stamen and cut out one from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  This has been covered in Glamour Dust.

In the centre of each snowflake, I have added a small silver spacer and pearl brad.  I have also added a silver chain with a snowflake charm to the inside snowflake.

To finish, I have placed a pearl swirl down the front of the card and three pearls in the corners.

Hey Dude

Good evening everyone

It's been a very strange few days, we are currently going through a lot of changes at work, Managers losing their jobs and Section Leaders being recruited.  The Managers that have been made redundant are expected to continue working at until the 4th October, but Friday, one just decided to walk out, he didn't tell anyone, just picked up his stuff and went. It's so upsetting to see this went you have work with these people for so long.

That was Friday, then on Saturday, I was out having a few drinks with friends, when I was told that one of my colleagues had been offered my position, very shocked.  As it turns out, they have plans for me to take on one of the new positions, but hadn't spoken to me before the offer was made to my colleague.  I will say however, that my People Manager did apologise for the mistake.

Anyway, in between work, I have managed to make a card.  This is for my Nephew's birthday which is today.  The digital stamp is from Sassy Cheryl's Digital Stamps and I have coloured him in using ProMarkers.

I have printed from my computer, a square piece of patterned digital paper and layered it onto blue card stock leaving a small border around the edges.

Next, I have printed off three smaller squares of a matching patterned digital paper and again, layered these onto blue card and mounted along the bottom of the card.

The digital image has been coloured in using ProMarkers and then mounted onto the same blue card stock.  I have then printed from my computer, a "Hey Dude" sentiment.

Around the bottom of the card, blue twine has been wrapped and the sentiment added over the twine to the left of the background.

To finish, I have added three small blue buttons to both of the top corners.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
